Endurance Nutrition Package
This package is designed to accompany a 12-16 week endurance training plan, such as marathon or half-marathon preparation.
The following is a general guideline for our sessions, but each will be tailored to your individual goals and progress.
Session 1
Getting to Know You
Let’s build a foundation for success by diving into your unique story, health history, and goals. This session will help us create a personalized plan tailored to your needs.
• Full nutrition assessment
• Diet analysis
• Optional: Analysis of relevant lab work (e.g., iron, vitamin D, or other markers) to ensure optimal health and performance
• Discussion of your goals and how nutrition can support them
Session 2
Daily Nutrition for Running Performance
• Exploring “Athletes Plates” for balanced fueling based on training intensity
• Timing fuel intake around your runs for optimal performance and recovery
• Discussion of supplements for runners: what’s helpful, what’s not, and how to use them effectively
Session 3
Fueling & Hydrating During Long Runs
• Determining your carbohydrate, fluid, and electrolyte needs
• Conducting a Sweat Test to personalize your hydration strategy
• Using caffeine strategically for performance
• Preventing stomach problems
Session 4
Race Day Fueling Strategy + Recovery Nutrition
• How to carb load during Peak Week to avoid “hitting the wall” on race day
• Race day morning meal planning
• Recovery nutrition: what and when to eat post-race to speed up recovery
• Logistics of carrying fluids/gels during your race

Meet your nutrition coach: Mia Tarte
Nutritionist, Run and Strength Coach, Mom
For me, running is a way to ground myself, foster meaningful friendships, and experience a sense of accomplishment with every stride, no matter how big or small. It’s an ongoing journey of self-discovery. As a coach, my goal is to help you find joy in your running, build your confidence, and reach your personal milestones.
My journey as an athlete began as a varsity rower at the University of Portland, where I competed in NCAA Division 1 rowing. After college, I transitioned to long-distance running and triathlons. Since completing my first marathon in 2018, I’ve continued to improve, running a personal best of 2:45 in the 2024 Chicago Marathon.
In addition to my experience as an athlete, I have a Master Degree in Clinical Nutrition. I believe that proper nutrition plays a crucial role in performance, recovery, and injury prevention. My coaching combines smart training, sustainable nutrition, and a focus on enjoying the process, so you can achieve your goals while maintaining balance in your life.
Ultimately, my mission as a coach is to help you feel empowered, capable, and balanced—so you can not only achieve your running goals but also build a lasting relationship with fitness that serves you for life.
